Sustainable tourism has been identified as one of the trends that will drive the relaunch and development of tourism for the next 10 years (Milan Polytechnic Observatory).  

What exactly is meant by "sustainable"? What is the identi-kit for this kind of tourist, or rather, traveller? Where are we in Italy on this issue, on the supply side, on the demand side, on the domestic and incoming market? How can we best adapt our offering to respond to this new, fast-growing segment, which is currently struggling to find offerings in line with its needs?
