Tourist trains: offering local heritage and developing services for tourism

05/10/21 h 15:00 - 16:00

A "journey" by train as an "experience"; the "experience" to be lived along the route or in the places reached (i.e. excursions, meetings, activities, workshops, events, stories). Demand for tourist railways is growing, in Italy too, where in the last two years significant numbers have been recorded as turnover and as induced business. An analysis of international "best practice", the Italian experience, and recognizing the state of the art in some Italian regions, enables the conditions required and the method to be followed to be identified for the offering of historical and tourist trains together with the prospects for "tourist railways" as vectors for discovering less-known areas.
