Innovation is a woman: new experiences and professions in wine and food tourism"

05/11/21 h 12:00 - 13:00

The future world of work, but also the present one, speaks a language that is increasingly linked to the digital world and new technologies, but also strongly connected to the human element and the ability to develop appropriate soft skills. In this new economic configuration, women are carving out diversified and increasingly specialised spaces that enhance their personal talents, and also enable them to build links with their own areas. In this context, this session in which some women linked to the world of food and wine tourism will be able to present their experience fits in, above all to analyse trends and tendencies in the world of work.

Speakers

Emanuela Panke

President, Iter Vitis

I graduated in Communication Sciences in Rome, after years of study at the Sorbonne in Paris. I obtained a master's degree in agricultural and food marketing at the University of Siena. I have been working in the wine tourism sector since 2003. I was deputy director of the Italian Association of Wine Cities, for which I edited the European Wine Tourism Charter. From 2007 to 2018 I was Director of the Council of Europe Cultural Route Iter Vitis Les Chemins de la Vigne of which I am now President. I have worked for Unione Italiana Vini and Regione Siciliana on the internationalisation of large companies in the wine sector in the USA, India, China and Russia. From 2011 to 2015 I managed the Gambero Rosso cooking schools in Sicily and I was a consultant for Norma the multi-purpose centre of gastronomic culture open at the arrivals terminal of Catania airport in Sicily, cooking for tourists and incentive groups. Since 2018 I have been living in Tel Aviv where I am deputy secretary general of the Israel Italy Chamber of Commerce and Industry. With respect to our work in cultural itineraries, I would stress everything you indicate: that is, the importance of being a partner in a network that is recognized at an international level and beyond the borders of the European Union, which enables very incisive political lobbying, scouting for partners to access European projects on geographically differing programmes, and above all to diversify offerings by creating a collection of complementary but not competing products that integrate food and wine tourism in the strictest sense with cultural tourism,to attract various segments of the public. Moreover, it is interesting to see how at the time of coronavirus the number of member countries has increased due to the fact that belonging to a network is an opportunity for more visibility. Thanks to the need to create local tourism products that are attractive to all categories of customers (nature, art, archaeology, and gastronomy) this is an option that itineraries can offer widely.

Antonietta Acampora

Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Picnic Chic

Originally from Campania, I was born to admire the sea; from wonderful parents who passed on to me the value of freedom and the ability to envision and share. This is the very essence of Picnic and Picnic Chic, the start-up I founded in 2017, with my first booking for picnics and open air experience coming from there: from the pleasure of discovery, the flavours of sharing and being together, and the freedom to be in touch with nature. My administrative skills and work experience, first in the restaurant and trade sectors, then in Coldiretti where I got to know the world of farm holidays and wineries, have enabled me to identify the needs of a sector with great potential. Once I moved to Bergamo in 2015, I developed the Picnic Chic project, which saw the light of day two years later. The ingredients needed for a picnic are simple and affordable: a tablecloth, a basket, a quiet place, good food and good company. We at Picnic Chic have made the approach to this lifestyle 'digital' and even simpler, offering a new idea of picnics to consumers and providing an opportunity for partner establishments to easily start their own digitalization process.

Maria Cristina Crucitti

Founder di Cheese Storyteller

“My name is Maria Cristina and I am an experienced cheese professional. I love discovering stories and universes hidden behind each wheel of cheese. I work in tourism, training and consultancy for dairy companies. After graduating in International and Diplomatic Sciences, in 2009, I chose to start a new life as a dairy technician, goat farmer and cheese producer. I was then lucky enough to work for important selectors and seasoners in Italy and France. In 2014, I founded "The Cheese Storyteller", my invented job: the perfect mix of my skills, preferences and philosophy. My mission? Convey the fascination of this incredible food, so common and often so mysterious”.
