“Mice in Italy" is starting again from safety, creativity and sustainability

An attentive approach to the territory is required to preserve its identity, uniqueness and excellence and adds, in the national and foreign collective imagination, to the undisputed charm of the Peninsula also to a solid brand reputation. The meetings industry must start again by making the voice of its stakeholders heard on that all-Italian humanity, CSR, professionalism, contracts and locations capable of making a difference. Gabriella Ghigi

Head of Lombardy Federcongressi

Gabriella Gentile has been involved in conference tourism for many years, with a particular focus on economic and management aspects and the impact on the local area. She is a partner in Meeting Consultants, a company specialising in destination marketing, training, research and projects to support conference centres, hotels, convention bureaus, tourism organisations and institutions. Committed to developing sustainability also in congresses and events of all kinds, she launched the Food for Good project, supported by Federcongressi&eventi, Banco Alimentare and Equoevento non-profit organisation, to recover surplus food from events. She is the head of the Lombardy delegation of Federcongressi&eventi.

Stefano Giaquinta

Chief experience office at Mutika Emc, Italy

Stefano Giaquinta founded Mutika in 2010 after a 20-year career in the European hotel industry. His background includes multiple sales director roles as well as divisional account director Starwood for Europe, Africa and the Middle East and VP Business Development Emea at HelmsBriscoe. He has been a member of the Association of Corporate Travel Executives, Icca, Mpi and Site and is now a member of Ficp, Financial & Insurance Conference professionals. Among other things, in 2009, he won the XV edition of Ragusani nel Mondo for being a very young professional in a key sector for the Sicilian economy such as tourism and the hotel industry.

Carlotta Ferrari

CBItalia President

A graduate in Political Science from the University of Florence, after an exciting career as marketing director of a major Italian DMC and in the hospitality sector, Carlotta Ferrari became director of the Florence Convention Bureau in 2010. She launched a new destination marketing strategy and converted a predominantly public company into a consortium with around 300 private members, prestigious local sponsors and the strong economic and political support of public institutions. In 2015, Carlotta launched Tuscany for Wedding and in 2017, the innovative Destination Florence Convention & Visitors bureau. From March 2013 to March 2017, Carlotta was vice-president of Federcongressi & Eventi. In this setting, together with other national tourism associations, she set up the Italia Convention Bureau, a private network of companies responsible for coordinating and promoting Italian mice, of which she is now president.

Giorgio Palmucci

President of Enit

Giorgio Palmucci is one of the leading managers in the Italian tourism industry. He is currently the Chairman of ENIT — the Italian Government Tourist Board. As a private company manager with extensive experience, he accepted the challenge of chairing ENIT to make himself available to the sector through a public role. He has been at the forefront of the travel industry’s community since the ‘90s. The approach to tourism he developed working with the hotel group Confindustria Alberghi allows him to have a wide-ranging strategic viewpoint. He started out in the industry as a young man, immediately taking on positions of responsibility with multinational corporations such as Club Med, a global leader in the holiday village sector. After Club Med, he became CEO and General Manager of Hotelturist S.p.a., a hotel chain operating in Italy as TH Resorts, building the brand and revising the corporate structure.

Silvia Pozzi

Chief logistics officer Gattinoni Mice

Determined, engaging and full of initiative, she manages the entire logistics project flow, from planning to operations. A single role to make the work flow more efficient. Her great passion for travel and her knowledge of destinations enable her to transfer her know-how with ease, thus enriching projects across the board.

Roberta Guaineri

Councillor for Tourism, Sport and Leisure for the City of Milan

Born in Milan, a criminal lawyer, author of publications and training courses on the subject, she met politics in 2006, when she joined the Democratic Party Association in Milan and in 2007 ran for the elections as a representative of civil society. Elected, she participates in the work of the Constituent Assembly. In 2008, she obtained her PD membership card by joining the Porta Genova club and became its spokesperson for two terms. She loves contemporary art and is a great sportswoman with a passion for running. Her commitment to the city focuses on internationalisation and the culture of legality to be achieved by promoting sports and culture in the suburbs. She was a candidate for the 2016 Milan Administrative elections, and was elected from the 'Beppe Sala - We, Milan’ list for the City Council. She is currently Tourism, Sport and Leisure Councillor.
